A board at the
entrance of the municipality reminds You that Bibbiano is the
very heart of the Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese: its important
dairy tradition has been recently confirmed by a remarquable
production.
The perseverance of the agricultural tradition of this land
is granted by its rich patrimony of ancient houses, a peculiar
ressource for the more skilled and cultivated tourism: suggested
for those who handle maps and guides of these charming hills
with ease and pleasure. The two centres of the region, Bibbiano
and the ancient village of Barco, host the main monuments of
the area: the church of St. Peter, the parish of S. Maria Assunta
and the peculiar defensive tower of Bibbiano, with its medieval
basement.
In the second ten days of September the main festival of the
territory takes place: 'Bibbiano Produces', an economic and
expositive festival, always prepared and accompanied by other
interesting events all over the year.
