Montechiarugolo

The castle

Panoramic view
Montechiarugolo lies on the first hills, facing Montecchio and the river Enza. Its castle, just like Montecchio's witnesses the importance of this area as a main access to the Enza's river, towards the territories of Matilde.
Montechiarugolo's castel, very well preserved and open to the visitors, constitutes one of the main attractions of the Po and Enza's valleys, rich in historical and cultural ressources.
Between the most interesting facilities of the region we suggest the therms of Monticelli, famous for its salty bromoiodic waters since the beginning of the XXth century as it is witnessed by the wonderful institute dating back to 1927, at the centre of an historical park. Monticelli offers as well some remarkable touristic and sportive facilities.
