The municipality
of Palanzano, lying on the northern side of the Monte Faggeto,
is well appreciated by summer tourists enjoying the mild climate
of the valleys between the Cedra and the Enza.
Even if the village has roman origins it is just during the
Middle Ages that the Lords holding the land made it famous and
central through some important alliances with the municipality
of Parma. Some interesting walks can lead you to Ranzano, Vairo
Superiore, Ai Monti, Caneto, or, from Selvanizza, to the Valle
dei Cavalieri (the higher part of the Enza's valley entitled
to the riders, ancient lords of this region) and to Lagastrello's
passage.
